HISTORY OF THE BOONIE

The boonie hat was introduced to our soldiers during the Vietnam War. “Boonie” is an abbreviated form of boondocks which was originally American soldiers slang (derived from Tagalog) bundok which means “mountain”.  A true classic in head wear, it still remains very popular as part of a uniform or casual wear.
